Trainee Chartered Accountant

Michael J Emery & Co Limited is an independent accountancy practice based in Newport Pagnell for over 30 years. We are looking for a graduate to join our team of 16 and support our accounts, tax and audit departments.

Unlike at some larger firms where you are pigeonholed into a specific role at a smaller firm you will get to work over a wider range of sectors and we pride ourselves on training rounded accountants.

The training programme will be part of the Level 7 Apprenticeship Programme with the ultimate goal of achieving ACA qualification.

The roll will entail:

• Preparing accounts and corporation tax computations and returns.
• Joining audit teams on site to assist with planning, field work and completion.
• Preparing personal tax returns and computations.
• Working as part of the office team.
• Communicating with clients to gather information and support for various file types.
• Liaising with internal staff regarding planning of work, completion of work to a deadline.

• Graduates with a 2:1 or above.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and effective time management.
• Proficiency in IT and relevant software.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
