An exciting opportunity has become available for an ambitious Graduate Trainee to join our small, dynamic team.

The ACA training programme:

On offer is a fully funded level 7 ACA Accountancy training programme suitable for an ambitious individual, who is looking to become a qualified ACA Chartered Accountant. You will be provided with full study support, including paid study leave, mentorship and coaching, to support you on your journey onto ACA, and become a qualified accountant. To give you an idea of time scale, with first time passes it takes approximately three years to complete. You will be trained by Big 4 Accountancy alumni by a company has been a member firm of the ICAEW since its launch in 2010.

From your first day, you will be exposed to a broad range of clients and companies. Your job role will vary from accounts preparation, statutory accounts, tax planning/computations, and general office administration. You will also gain exposure to management accounting, forecasting and budgeting, as well as working with the Directors who are advising companies on M&A activity, Corporate Finance and founder exit planning.

DFD is an entrepreneurial Corporate Finance Boutique incorporating high value Accountancy work in the idyllic location of Poundbury (Dorchester) in West Dorset. The practice offers traditional year end accountancy and taxation services alongside high-quality management information, independent Finance Director consultancy and Lead Advisory Corporate Finance.

Our focus is on developing ambitious businesses to scale and then offering valuations, founder exit planning and eventual business sale execution. Offering a hands-on advisory service to clients, you will benefit from direct client contact and the chance to make a real contribution to the company’s affairs. You will gain a much broader variety of experience than at most other firms!

The successful trainee accountant will be able to demonstrate:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships; strong analytical skills and be able to solve problems, whilst using initiative; commitment to self-development and learning, with a strong academic background; ability to hit the ground running, whilst balancing both work and learning within a busy job. Therefore, the ideal person will need to be hardworking and committed to becoming a fully qualified ACA accountant.

Requirements:

  • Preferably a Graduate – 2.1 or above in any degree discipline
  • A’ level passes A-C ideally in 3 subjects
  • Grade B (level 6) or above in GCSE English and Maths. Or an AAT Qualified Accountant looking to embark on the ACA Qualification
  • Valid right to work in the UK
  • Full, clean driving license
