From our office

Wellden Turnbull is an independent firm of statutory auditors, chartered accountants and tax advisors based in Esher, Surrey. We have a client base ranging from small owner managed businesses through to large corporates operating across of a variety of sectors including renewable energy, financial services, real estate, construction, consulting, education and waste management.

Whether you have just left College or are a University graduate, we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and ambitious trainees to join our audit department.  Trainees are enrolled onto a 3 year apprenticeship training programme to study for the ACA qualification. Study programmes are provided by a market leading tuition provider, BPP. We recognise that everyone studies in different ways. We work with you to develop a training programme that suits your style of learning, from choosing whether to attend in person or remote courses through to the number of exams you are enrolled on in each sitting.

What we offer

A starting salary of £27,500, increasing annually as you progress through the training programme. A clear, structured path to achieving the ACA qualification with full financial support for exams and study materials including paid for study courses, revision sessions, exams fees and additional study leave. A collaborative and supportive working environment. The option to work from home a couple of days a week in your second and third years. Exposure to a wide range of clients and industries. A major benefit of training with a medium size firm is that you will quickly gain experience working on all aspects of an audit engagement in an environment which is set up to ensure you are supported, engaged and develop the requisite skills to become a valued member of the audit team. We ensure you work across a variety of clients however if you have an interest in a particular sector, we do try and structure your development to accommodate your preferences.  You will work closely and collaboratively alongside trainees who are also progressing through the ACA programme as well as with the senior managers and directors of the firm who will mentor you as you progress through your career.

What we are looking for

A 2:1 degree or above in any subject.  If you are a school leaver, 3 A levels in core subjects with predicted grades of B or above. 120 UCAS points (new system) excluding AS levels and General Studies. GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above. Able to use your initiative to make positive change. Work collaboratively with others to ensure objectives are achieved. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Are analytical and able to interrogate and challenge financial and other data. Audit is a people-focused profession, so you must be able to demonstrate you can communicate confidently and clearly with colleagues and clients. You will also need excellent team working skills and the ability to work on your own using your initiative. Studying for professional exams whilst working full-time requires motivation and hard work. Whilst we will support you through your studies, you need to demonstrate that you are a ‘self starter’, able to motivate yourself through the challenge of studying for the ACA qualification whilst working.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.

The role is located in Esher, Surrey however you may be asked to travel to client sites. Access to a car is preferable.

If you meet these requirements and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career in audit, please apply online today.
