What do the team do?
The Business team provides a mix of accounting services ranging from bookkeeping and year end accounts preparations, including tax returns, to our rapidly growing and innovative cloud accounting service line. We have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.
In our Norwich based Business team you will be responsible for preparing year end accounts and tax computations for non-audit clients with turnovers typically up to £2m.
What will I be doing?
As an Accounts Assistant / Semi Senior you will have ownership of the following tasks:
- Undertaking moderate to large accounts preparation assignments, including the accompanying tax computations.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and VAT returns where appropriate.
- Reviewing team members' work and own work before passing to the senior on the job.
- Using initiative to resolve any client queries with minimal input from senior / manager.
- Training / mentoring more junior colleagues.
What experience do I need?
Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
- AAT part qualified / qualified or ACA / ACCA part qualified (minimum criteria).
- Experience of working in an accountancy practice preparing sets of accounts (minimum criteria).
- Up to date working knowledge of VAT.
- Experience of using Sage, Xero and Quickbooks Online.
- Client facing experience.
