Job Details

Immediate and September 2023 start.

We want to hear from bright, ambitious graduates and school leavers who are keen to join our growing Private Client Tax Team. This is a great opportunity for motivated, articulate and career-minded individuals to progress in a career within taxation.

Your Role

As tax legislation is becoming increasingly complex, our clients need to understand how the evolving tax environment impacts their personal situation. As a tax associate, you will help our clients manage their tax affairs to ensure they stay ahead of the changing legislation, identify tax planning opportunities, and minimise risk.

Helping our clients to navigate their challenges

As private client tax advisors, we help build the confidence and trust that individuals need to thrive. If you’d like to help individuals and their families navigate the numerous challenges that their business or personal situation may present, Ecovis is the place to be. To best help our clients you will need to have the confidence to consider numerous strategies, develop plans and ask difficult questions, giving our clients advice they can rely on. As private client tax advisors, we enjoy the intellectual stimulation that comes from solving complex problems and creating positive change for all our clients.

The Programme

Our tax trainee programme is designed to give you the qualifications, skills and experiences you need to embark on a rewarding career within Private Client Tax.

School Leaver:

You will study towards your ATT qualification. Following successful completion of this, you will have the option to either work through the Joint Programme route (ACA/CTA) or CTA qualification. These qualifications will give you the technical expertise and insight to advise our clients.

Graduate:

You will have the option to either work towards the CTA qualification through the Joint Programme route (ACA/CTA), or via the ATT pathway. These qualifications will give you the technical expertise and insight to advise our clients.

During this fixed term training programme your role will be primarily focused on advising our Private Clients on their personal tax affairs, compliance obligations and planning opportunities. There will also be opportunities to develop a better understanding in other areas of taxation and to work closely with both our Corporate and VAT teams and our overseas offices.

We work with a range of individuals, from wealthy non-domiciled individuals to entrepreneurs and business owners. We provide consulting advice in numerous spaces, with a particular focus on global mobility, business exits, inheritance tax and remittance basis planning.

This varied experience will allow you to gain exceptional insight into Private Client taxation.

Qualification Pathways

We offer different study paths to suit your experience and area of focus. Whichever route you take, we ensure you get time off work to attend college, complete online learning, and sit your exams.

Ecovis enjoys a supportive and collaborative working environment. While you’re working towards your professional qualification you have the benefit of being able to turn to an appointed mentor who has been through it themselves.

Entry Requirements

School Leaver: Applicants will have achieved A-Levels or equivalent. The subject of your A-Levels are not important, we are more interested in the characteristics and skill sets of the applicant.

Graduate: It is preferred that applicants will have achieved, or are on course to achieve, a 2:1 degree from a university, however, a 2:2 degree will be considered.  The subject of your degree is not important, we are more interested in the characteristics and skill sets of the applicant.
