Our trainee accountants gain a breadth of experience through preparing financial statements and audits for a variety of business and not-for-profit sectors, as well as exposure to corporation tax, VAT and management accounts work.

We accept applications for trainee positions from December for entry in the spring or summer of the following year, with interviews generally taking place during the period January to March.

Academic requirements

In addition to the academic requirements listed below, you must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a real aptitude for analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Minimum entry requirements for Chartered Accountant training:

• 2:1 in a relevant degree (Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics or Accountancy) or AAT qualified
• one A grade and two B grades at A-level
• A or B grade, or 6 to 9 grades, GCSEs in English Language and Maths

Minimum entry requirements for AAT/ACA Fast track training:

• one A grade and two B grades at A level
• A or B grade, or 6 to 9 grades, GCSEs in English Language and Maths
• If you apply for training as a school leaver we would expect you to progress from AAT to ACA or ACCA and would support you accordingly.
