Graduate trainee

Joseph Miller is an independent firm of chartered accountants in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. 

We have a very diverse client base, offering opportunities to gain experience of working with a wide range of businesses from start-ups to medium-sized groups of companies.

We are currently seeking graduates to study towards the ACA qualification within our audit and accounts team.

The ideal candidate will:

• have a good academic background
• have a minimum of a 2:1 degree in any discipline
• have a minimum of a grade B in both English and Maths GCSE
• be organised, show initiative and be keen to develop their knowledge
• have strong communication and team-working skills

During their training, graduates can expect to gain experience of the following:

• Preparation of accounts for limited companies, LLPs, charities, partnerships and sole traders
• Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
• Preparation of management accounts and forecasts
• Audit and assurance engagements
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Operation of various accounting software
