Background
A graduate scheme with Equitix Management Services offers the chance to join a fast-growing company operating at the heart of social infrastructure in the UK. As a member of the finance team at EMS, you will be given responsibility for a portfolio of project companies across a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, social housing, student accommodation and renewable energy.
EMS provides financial, operational and construction management services to Special Purpose Vehicles ("SPVs") throughout the Infrastructure and Public Private Partnership industries. Established in October 2014 by six core members of an independent team, EMS has experienced significant growth in project contract numbers and employees and now has over 190 projects under management with services being delivered by a multi-disciplined team around 155 people, generating turnover in the region of £15m per annum. The head office is in London with regional offices in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, as well as an expanding subsidiary business in Italy.
This role is in the Glasgow team, located at Strathclyde Business Park.
As a graduate with EMS, you will be studying towards the ACA qualification for membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Your ICAEW training is supported by ongoing mentoring and on the job coaching from a vastly experienced team.
Responsibilities
The graduate scheme will last for three years during which you will work in an exciting, challenging and dynamic environment. You will be given the opportunity to develop both technical and interpersonal skills, learn how to communicate with various stakeholders, develop an analytical mindset, and think proactively and strategically.
Your principle responsibilities will initially involve accounts payable and receivable, cash, debt and treasury management, company secretarial, management and statutory accounts reporting and HMRC compliance. During your three years, you will progress towards managing your own portfolio of project companies, including financial management, oversight of junior staff, financial modelling and presentation of project financial performance at quarterly board meetings.
EMS has a strong track record of developing and nurturing talent, guiding graduates through their professional qualifications and encouraging and training them towards roles of leadership within the business.
