Our client base is varied but we have a particular focus on cutting-edge technology and digital businesses. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a rapidly developing practice.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is looking for broad training across various financial systems and compliance areas. This individual will initially be given foundation training in bookkeeping, and then progress quickly to a Financial Controller. As a Financial Controller responsibilities will include managing client relationships and preparation of management and statutory accounts for clients of all sizes.
Reports to: Finance Business Partner
RESPONSIBILITIES
Core responsibilities for initial 6 – 9 months include:
- Control of the bookkeeping process
- VAT and EC sales list returns
- Payroll and Pension fillings
- Confirmation statements
- Payment runs
- Assistance with manager accounts preparation
- Assistance with year-end accounts preparation
- Xero training
- Billing and other administrative tasks
- Assistance with business projects
Core responsibilities post initial period include:
- Oversight of the bookkeeping process
- Oversight and review of regular monthly and quarterly services
- Managing client relationships and delivery of services for small to medium sized clients
- Management accounts preparation
- Year-end accounts preparation
- Xero training
- Business project delivery
- Supervision of off-shored tasks

- A 2:1 degree or above

- An analytical approach and a problem-solving attitude
- Enjoys building relationships and willingness to work with clients to assist them
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage deadlines
- Ability to adapt to difficult workload demands, e.g. time / resource constraints
- Strong team ethic and willingness to train / help others
- A passion for start-ups and technology
