Apprenticeship summary

 

Working week - 3- 5 day working week (we can be flexible with days/ hours worked)

 

9am -4pm

 

Wage rate depending on experience and level apprenticeship offered.

 

Vacancy description

 

This is a great opportunity to start to your career in Accountancy as part of a team and will cover a range of accounting and bookkeeping functions, including assisting the existing payroll team and getting involved in performing day to day bookkeeping transactions for clients and drafting their VAT returns. Potential for progression through further qualifications.

 

A broad range of accounting and finance tasks will be undertaken providing experience across our activities. Tasks at some point would include:

 

  • Processing client records into accounting software. Reconciling balance sheet accounts Preparing monthly financial statements Processing company credit card statements Prepare year end accounts Matching the bank feeds Matching receipts feeds Understanding the various accounting software in use General admin, including dealing with ad-hoc duties, emails and telephone support. Preparing year end accounts Preparing tax computations

 

 

 

 

Training to be provided

 

You will undertake the “Accounts Assistant” Apprenticeship. No prior experience required. Whether just starting or part qualified, we will support your completion of AAT qualification from level 2 to level 4 according to how far you wish to progress.

 

You will receive support from both the employer, and the training provider, to complete and achieve your Apprenticeship and will be given time to study during the week on a day release basis. As you are working towards a professional qualification, it is also expected that you will continue your studies outside of normal office hours.

 

As you learn more in both the office and in your studies your responsibilities, and the variety of tasks you undertake, are expected to increase.

 

If you want to take your training further/ or have achieved AAT, we can start with training towards ACA. We are a recognised ICAEW partner.

Desired qualifications

 

A minimum of 5 GCSEs, which must include Maths & English grades 9-5 (A-C)

 

Future prospects

 

For the right candidate, we see this position as possibly a stepping-stone for developing a long-term career with the practice, being an integral part of its growth and ideally progressing from the AAT qualification (apprenticeship levels 2, 3 and 4) to the ACA (ICAEW) qualification (level 7).
